Where Are You Going in 2015? Our Top Travel Destinations

January 22, 2015

It’s that time of year. Setting goals, reviewing the business plan, and – most importantly – deciding on the destination for your next vacation or travel incentive program.

Last year, we hosted clients far and wide – an alphabet of  destinations, from Aruba, Barcelona, Costa Rica…all the way to Venice (sorry, no trips to Zanzibar!)

Everyone has their idea of the hot destinations for 2015, whether it’s a tropical island, an exciting city, or an adventurous location. Here’s a selection of lists from around the web, to get you thinking:

  • Let’s start with New York Times’ 52 Places to Go. It’s worth a look if only for the gorgeous images and the eye-catching loop-videos. The range of suggestions is also noteworthy and, while you may not agree with all of them (#26 wouldn’t have made my list!), there’s at least two dozen that I want to book my tickets for today.

  • Condé Nast Traveller’s Destinations to Watch uncovers some less traditional and up-and-coming places to visit, including Nayarit, Mexico for an undiscovered beach (think Tulum, ten years ago), and even highlights the Corktown District of Detroit as “one-to-watch.”

  • You can probably skip the TripAdvisor list which relies on a top 10 list of classics including London, Rome and Paris. Nothing new to see here. Their Destinations on the Rise list is more inspiring, so long as you click on the “World” button – otherwise, Wildwood NJ is their number one choice!
  • And finally, National Geographic serves up a mix of adventurous destinations (Columbia, Faroe Islands) with some closer to home (Oklahoma City, the National Mall). Each one, of course, is accompanied by the renowned photography that the publication is famous for.

Which ones surprised or intrigued you? Whichever one caught your eye, make a note to start planning that trip today!

As for me, I’ve just booked two tickets to the new Andaz Papagayo in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. And when I get there, I’ll be looking through these lists again, to plan my next trip…there are just so many places to see!
