Destination Debrief: Three Properties that Redefine Incentives
Holly Bailey, Senior Travel Program Manager, has been all around the world. She recently shared her thoughts with Susan Adams, VP of Client Strategy and Engagement, to talk about three extraordinary destinations that create truly unforgettable incentive travel experiences.
Susan Adams: Holly, you've designed and experienced incentive programs all over the world. When you think about destinations that leave a lasting impression on attendees, what properties immediately come to mind?

Holly Bailey: The first is Four Seasons Chiang Mai, Thailand. This property delivers the kind of "wow" factor participants talk about for years afterward. It's incredibly unique and memorable, and honestly, it's the type of experience attendees will compare future incentive trips to. From the albino water buffalo that greet guests before check-in to the nearby elephant experiences, participants feel immersed in Thailand while enjoying exceptional luxury and service. It's a destination that combines authentic cultural experiences with a resort environment that's truly world class.
Susan Adams: What is it about a property like Four Seasons Chiang Mai that elevates an incentive program beyond a typical vacation?
Holly Bailey: It's the sense of discovery. Attendees aren't simply staying at a luxury hotel; they're experiencing something they likely wouldn't plan on their own. Every detail feels unique to the destination, which helps create those memorable moments that are so important in incentive travel. The property captures the culture, scenery, and hospitality of Thailand in a way that's both authentic and extraordinary.
Susan Adams: Another destination on your list is Paris, which many companies might assume is too familiar for an incentive trip. Why does it stand out for you?
Holly Bailey: My choice would be the Shangri-La Paris. The property itself is remarkable because it was once the residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte and is now one of Paris's celebrated Palace hotels. The original ballrooms provide an incredible setting for events, while many guestrooms offer stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. I also love Paris for final-night events. Whether it's a private function within the Eiffel Tower or an exclusive experience at Jules Verne restaurant, the destination offers opportunities to create truly unforgettable moments. Paris may be well known, but with the right planning and access, it can feel incredibly exclusive.
Susan Adams: What's the final destination on your personal wish list?

Holly Bailey: Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley in Australia. This is one of those places that genuinely feels like a trip of a lifetime. Located in the Blue Mountains, guests arrive by special vehicle transfer or helicopter, immediately creating a sense of exclusivity. Every guest enjoys their own private villa, complete with a swimming pool, and the resort is situated within a conservation reserve where wildlife moves freely throughout the property. The combination of luxury, privacy, and natural beauty is unlike anything else. It's the type of experience that many attendees would never seek out independently, which makes it especially powerful as an incentive destination.
Susan Adams: If there's one theme connecting all three destinations, what is it?
Holly Bailey: They're all destinations that feel truly special. Great incentive travel should reward people with experiences they couldn't easily replicate themselves. Whether that's cultural immersion in Thailand, historic luxury in Paris, or extraordinary exclusivity in Australia, the goal is creating memories that last long after the trip is over.
